Special Visitor Tomorrow!

As part of our Social Studies unit on "Living and Working in Ontario", I am excited to announce a guest speaker for tomorrow!  My nephew Matt Keogh will be coming in to speak to all the Gr. 3's about his job as a Forest Fire Ranger in Northern Ontario. I hope the students will have plenty of interesting questions to ask him.
Check my Tweets tomorrow to see pictures of Matt with our Gr. 3's!

Please Practise "Les questions"

Bonjour!  In this week's "cahier", students are asked to practise asking and answering the four questions listed. These are questions that the students created on their own and that we have been practising most mornings during our "Prof du jour" time. We will try to have students film each other asking and answering the questions and then post them on SeeSaw when they feel prepared to do so.
Merci!
Mme Goold

French Library on Monday!

Please note that due to tomorrow's PD day, French library day will be on Monday. Please ensure that your child brings his/her book to school as well as "le cahier"
Merci! Bonne fin de semaine!  Mme Goold

Booklet: Un arbre dans une communauté forestiere

Here is a video of me reading the booklet that students are illustrating and reading at school:

Un arbre dans une communauté forestiere:

1- Des personnes coupent les arbres avec des grosses machines.
2- Les arbres sont transportés dans une usine ou une scierie.
3- Avec les arbres, on fabrique des objets en papier, en carton et en bois.
4- Des personnes plantent des petits arbres pour remplacer les gros arbres coupés.
5- Voici deux graines.
6- Les graines poussent. Voici deux petites plantes.
7- Les plantes grandissent. Voici deux arbres: un feuillu et un conifere.

This Week's News

Bonjour!  This week, we have begun to focus on Ontario's FORESTRY industry. Today, your child came home with 2 sheets in "le cahier" related to forestry.  Please practise reading these sheets as it will benefit work done at school.  Do not forget to initial the page after your child has practised.

This week, we will be discovering various products made from wood using research on the iPads, as well as go on a hunt in the class to locate wood products.  Students will also have an opportunity to do research on one forestry community located in Ontario.  It's going to be an interesting topic!

Here is a video that we watched in class today (video is in English):
