Le Cahier- Les pionniers

Please practice the vocabulary on "les pionniers" sent home in Le Cahier. Knowing what the words mean will increase comprehension when reading and learning about Pioneers. Merci beaucoup! Mme Goold

Les pionniers!

We've begun our next Social Studies unit on Life in the 1800's.  Today, students were eager to brainstorm questions they had about what life was like.
For homework this week, I ask that your child visit: www.pioneerlife.ca and search for answers to some of the questions listed in "le cahier".  This is just an informal research activity. Answers do not need to be written down. Please do this before the long weekend.
Merci!  Mme Goold

"Le printemps" TEST - Thursday

Bonjour! Please see your child's "cahier" for a REVIEW SHEET for this week's test on Le printemps. We have been very busy collaborating how to write descriptive sentences using the learned vocabulary.  Please continue to practise the sheets in Le cahier to better prepare for the test.
Merci beaucoup!  Mme Goold

Book Orders & Reading

French Book order forms went home and are due on March 30th.  I would encourage you to follow the steps on the form to place your order ONLINE. Please enter my name (Emily Goold) as your child's teacher. IF you are sending a cheque, please ensure that your cheque is for the exact amount payable to "Scholastic Canada" (Make sure to check the price of the books for ONTARIO).

Also, a reading went home today in "le cahier" called Jour de pluie. Please ensure your child reads this at least 3 times this week and completes the colouring as per the description provided. There will be a test on "le printemps" vocabulary as well as the reading next week.

Merci!

Emily Goold

Le printemps!

Bonjour! I hope you had a relaxing break! We got right back into the swing of things today.  We began learning "Le printemps" vocabulary. We played charades with the words (you should try this at home: "Est-ce que c'est ...?"- Oui, c'est..../Non, ce n'est pas..."). Also, we created sentences orally. Please try to use the following words to help your child create sentences at home:

Sentence starters: Je vois, Je porte, J'aime, Il y a, Voici, J'ai, Regarde,
Prepositions: sur, sous, dans, devant, derriere, pres, loin, avec

Merci!
Mme Goold

March Break

I really hope you all have a wonderful week off. The children deserve a break from all the hard work they have been doing. After the break, we will begin to focus on "le printemps" and start our next Social Studies unit on " Les pionniers". Here is a picture from last year's Pioneer Day. Merci et aurevoir!  Mme Goold

Les questions- Oral Evaluations

Please practise the 5 questions that were sent home in "Le Cahier". We have been working on asking and answering these questions for at least a month so your child should be familiar with them. Merci! Mme Goold
